One of my favorite things to do on a Friday evening is put on a movie (I have so many choices available through Dishnetwork) and sit back and relax with a bowl of popcorn and some of my very own homebrew.
As you can guess, one of my hobbies is brewing beer, and that is why I was so excited when I learned that the owners of Hough’s are opening a homebrew supply store. This will be the first of its kind in Pittsburgh.
24-year-old Greg Hough said “We like to educate people about beer and the brewing process. I think the brew-on-premises will go well with the people who come in – both those who are knowledgeable and want to homebrew and others who don’t know a lot about it.”
Opening day is expected sometime this fall. Stay tuned, once I find out I’ll let you know!
It seems that now is a good time to get an ADT Home Security system if you are a resident of Chester Pennsylvania, as a rash of murders in the past week have caused the city to declare a State Of Emergency.
The SOE was declared after the fourth killing in eight days. One of the deaths was of a 2-year old boy.
Mayor Wendell Butler Jr proclaimed the SOE beginning Saturday night through Thursday morning, and he will ask the City Council to extend it for a month. The SOE enforces a curfew from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m., and no assembly of three or more people is allowed without a permit.
Have you ever wondered how a candy bar is made? Have you ever wanted to make your own candy bar?
Well, now you can. Hershey's Chocolate World in Hershey, PA., is debuting a new attraction that's sure to be great fodder for TV programs like "How It's Made" and other shows brought to you by DISH Network.
For $14.95, you can don the hat of a chocolatier, choosing up to three of a variety of ingredients which can include graham cracker crumbs, blueberry fruit gels, and crisped rice. You also get to see how factory equipment works up close and personal.
But wait, that's not all. You also get to design your own label at an interactive kiosk, which will cover your creation as soon as the chocolate has cooled. How cool is that?
I plan to visit soon. Hope to see you there!
As if the Philadelphia Phillies, or their fans, need any more negative press after the notorious tasering incident in early May, the vomiting incident in April, and the prostitution-for-tickets incident last fall: the new scandal is footage of what appears to be a 4-year-old boy in the stadium taking a swig from a beer bottle during the game on June 6th.
The video, which shows the boy putting a beer bottle to his mouth and tilting his head back as if taking a nip of the nectar, has been making the rounds on TV stations carried by DISH Network as well as online. There is no way to tell if the bottle is empty or if the boy actually drank some of the brew, but the adults around him didn’t seem too concerned about the situation.
With the Phillies playing the way they have lately, it appears they are driving even their youngest fans to drink.
Aaron Kelly has had an eventful year; first making it to the top five on American Idol, which is aired on Fox through DISH Network, and then having an entire day dedicated to him.
June 4, 2010 marks the very first "Aaron Kelly Day" in Sullivan County, and Aaron Kelly himself surprised a crowd of revelers by appearing for the gala. Because of an uncertain schedule, Aaron was unable to confirm attendance, so the possibility that he would appear was intentionally kept from the media.
Among those waiting to meet the local superstar was a little boy by the name of Jaren Tilford. Jaren suffers from a life threatening illness and was recently selected to be the recipient of a wish through the Make A Wish Foundation.
7-year-old Jaren met Aaron while sporting his Make A Wish t-shirt and blue Make A Wish wristband. Handing Aaron one of his wristbands, Jaren said "I'm famous too."
